The standard we work to

This site is designed and tested to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Accessibility was part of the design from the first page, not retrofitted.

We describe the site as partially conformant: the pages meet the standard as far as we have been able to verify, but they have not yet been independently audited. We would rather say that plainly than claim a certification we do not hold.

What we have done

Semantic structure
Every page uses real landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), exactly one h1, and headings that descend in order. A skip link jumps straight to the main content.
Keyboard operation
Everything works without a mouse. The mobile menu and the accessibility panel open with Enter or Space and close with Escape, returning focus to where you were. Focus indicators are visible on every interactive element.
Colour contrast
Body text measures 17.9:1 and secondary text 6.7:1 against the page background, both above the AAA threshold, and the dark sections are just as strong. The orange used for links and small highlights measures 4.9:1. A brighter orange appears only in large headline words, where it measures 3.4:1, above the 3:1 that WCAG requires for large text. The brighter brand orange measures only 3.2:1, so it is used purely for decoration, and the build fails if it ever appears as text on a light background.
Text and zoom
Layouts use relative units and reflow down to a 320 pixel wide viewport and up to 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
Images
Every meaningful photo has a description; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers. No image is used to carry text.
Forms
Every field has a visible, associated label. Errors are described in text, announced to screen readers, and the first problem field receives focus.
Motion
The site honours your operating system’s reduce-motion setting, and the accessibility panel can switch animation off entirely.
Targets
Buttons, links in navigation and form controls are at least 44 by 44 pixels.

Reader preferences

The accessibility button in the footer of every page opens a panel where you can enlarge text, switch to higher contrast, use a plainer typeface, highlight links, widen text spacing and pause animation. Your choices are saved on your device only.

That panel adjusts the real site to your preference. It is not an accessibility overlay and it is not what makes this site accessible: the underlying markup is.

Known limitations

  • The site has not yet had an independent audit or testing with people who use assistive technology every day.
  • The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam. It is designed to work with screen readers and usually needs no interaction, but it is third-party code we do not control.
  • Articles we link to on Forbes, LinkedIn and other sites are outside our control, and their accessibility may differ.
  • Some event photos are only available at low resolution.

Tell us if something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us which page, what you were trying to do and what happened. If it helps, mention your browser and any assistive technology.

Use the contact form or send a message on LinkedIn. Every report is read by a person, and we will provide the information you were looking for in a format that works for you while the problem is fixed.

FAQ

Accessibility questions

Which standard does this site follow?

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is the benchmark most often referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act and in the European Accessibility Act’s harmonised standard.

Has the site been independently audited?

Not yet. Every page is checked automatically with axe-core each time the site is built, and the build fails on any violation. Keyboard walkthroughs and contrast measurements were done by hand. Automated testing finds only part of the problems, so an independent audit with assistive-technology users is the honest next step.

Does the accessibility panel make the site compliant?

No. The panel offers reader preferences, such as text size, contrast, spacing and motion, that adjust the real site. Accessibility comes from how the pages are built, not from a widget layered on top. This site does not use an accessibility overlay product.

Can I get the content in another format?

Yes. If you need any page, article list or biography in another format, send a request through the contact form and it will be provided.
